Privacy Policy.

What we collect

  • Account info — the Sui wallet address you sign in with. We never see or store a wallet’s private key.
  • Content you create — notes, tags, cabinets, and their timestamps. Notes flagged Private are kept out of Walrus backup and semantic search and are never synced to our shared memory store — they live only in our Convex database. You can optionally back up a Private note with per-wallet client-side encryption (encrypted in your browser, decryptable only by signing with your own Sui wallet); until you turn that on for a note, it’s stored in Convex the same way as any other note, just never backed up externally.
  • Payment records — if you pay by card, Stripe handles and stores your payment details directly; we only keep a customer/subscription reference and invoice history, never your card number. If you pay with USDC on Sui, we read the public transaction from the Sui blockchain to verify it — that transaction is public on-chain regardless of us.
  • Basic usage data — things like when you signed up, your current plan, and which notes are backed up to Walrus, so the app can show you accurate status.

Where it lives

  • Convex — our application database and backend. All your notes and account data live here.
  • Walrus — a decentralized storage network on Sui. Premium, Founding Walrus, and the Memory add-on back your notes up here so they don’t depend on WalNotes staying online. Data written to Walrus is stored across an independent network of nodes, not a single company’s servers.
  • Sui — the public blockchain behind wallet sign-in and USDC payments. Wallet addresses and on-chain transactions are public by design; that’s how blockchains work, not something WalNotes controls.
  • Stripe — handles card payments and billing for anyone who pays that way. See Stripe’s own privacy policy for how they handle payment data.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t sell your data to anyone.
  • We don’t sell or share your notes, and we keep Private notes out of Walrus backup and semantic indexing.
  • We don’t hold custody of any funds — payments go straight between you and Stripe, or you and our treasury wallet on Sui.
  • We don’t share your email or wallet address with third parties beyond the processors above (Stripe for billing, Walrus/Sui for storage and payment).

Your choices

You can delete any note or cabinet at any time. Deleting your account removes your stored notes and profile from Convex; content already written to Walrus or recorded on the Sui blockchain can’t be retroactively erased — that’s an inherent property of decentralized storage and public blockchains, not a WalNotes limitation. If you want your account removed, email support@walnotes.xyz and we’ll walk you through what that does and doesn’t cover.

Questions

This policy covers WalNotes as it exists today; we’ll update this page if that changes. Reach us at support@walnotes.xyz. See also our Terms of Service and Cookie Policy.
